I see a lot of people say they are the safest form of transportation but I can't help but think otherwise. Is there proof of this or is it just something people say to increase ticket sales?

Air transport is one of the safest modes of transportation in that it has the least number of deaths of any mode of travel. However, in reality, if you consider the hurdles that planes have to cross, air travel is undoubtedly among the most dangerous. Cars and motorbikes have the luxury of even roads, but airplanes change their route all the time, and this coupled with the unpredictable nature of weather makes it one of the most dangerous.

They are very safe and most of the worries people have rarely happen.

I think that it depends on who you talk to. There aren't as many planes that fly as cars that drive so the numbers are drastically different. I feel that planes are safe to a degree but I find that traveling by train to be the safest to this day by means of travel.
